US_CDC_logo.svgThe U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the national public health institute of the United States. Located in close proximity to Emory University we collaborate with a number of organs of CDC including the Office of the Director and the Emergency Response and Recovery Branch.  Dr. Evans is the faculty lead on a cooperative agreement between CDC and the Rollins School of Public Health.

The Center for Faculty Development and Excellence (CFDE) supports faculty in their many roles as teacher, researcher, author, clinician, mentor, university citizen, and public intellectual.  Dr. Evans is a member of the CFDE board and has served as chair of an academic learning community on Brazil, participated in the CFDE peer mentoring programming and received support for her teaching through the CDFE fund for innovative teaching (FIT) and a mini-grant for teaching.  Most recently she was the recipient of an award from the Scholarly Writing and Academic Publishing (SWAP) fund.

House of the Brazilian Woman-Curitiba/Casa da Mulher Brasileira de Curitiba is a one step center for people experiencing intimate partner violence in Curitiba, Brazil. Part of a nation wide networks, tThe House is staffed 24/7 with multi-disciplinary teams and provides: cross-sectoral services including psychosocial support; healthcare; specialized police; courts; public attorney’s offices; temporary shelter; and access to financial support. Since its opening, in 2016, the HBW of Curitiba has served around 50,000 users.
